Welcome to the Change of Horses.
Change of Horses is a 400 year old traditional community pub in Farnborough Village, which is a small village on the edge of the Kentish green belt. The recently refurbished pub sits on the old London to Hastings road (now bypassed) and its name originates from the practice of stage coaches stopping to change their horses at the stables which used to be part of the Inn premises.
The pub has a large beautiful garden to the rear with a waterfall and pond and is a child and dog friendly venue with disabled access. There is a large function room next to the garden which can be hired for events, celebrations and parties. Catering can also be supplied to suit any budget.
The pub has a full kitchen team and serves freshly prepared food all day every day (see the food page) and as a free house, serves a wide range of quality cask real ales, ciders and an excellent selection of cold beers. There is usually live music every Friday evening (see the events page) and Orpington Folk club host live music sessions every Thursday evening in the function room. A number of local community and special interest groups meet and hold their meetings at the pub.
